Praj˝ā - (sanskrit) in Buddhism means understanding, wisdom, insight. It cuts through all confusion, conflicting emotions, attitudes one has towards oneself--thereby revealing what one is. It is seeing situations as they are.
And, in a single moment, my eyes at last were opened. I saw the dharma in the world around me and, without realization, in everything I had known. I saw the ghost of a secret smile on the lion's face and, in the depths of His starry gray eyes and in the stardust of my soul, a sudden knowledge that filled me with something beautiful.
I've known them
all my life.
